Distant relative of the shark. It was endowed with huge fangs used for slow, powerful bites on its fish prey.

SHARK
(shark)
Large marine fish. Maximum length 45 ft. Although mainly fish eaters, some will attack humans. From the Triassic Era.


A shark is a lame dinosaur. Especially when its description mentions humans… So, to make up for this, another dinosaur has been unleashed from its capsule today:


MOSASAUR
(mo-zah-SAWR)
This marine lizard’s name means “Meuse Lizard.” A meat eater which was 50′ or more long and had a large head with nostrils far back on the top of its skull. The short-legged lizard had a long, slender body with flipper-like feet and hands. Of the late Cretaceous Eta.

HADROSAURUS
(HAD-ro-sawr-us)
Its name means “Bulky Lizard.” This two-footed, plant eater grew to 30′ long, 10′ tall and weighed up to 3 tons. It was a land animal and had a duck-like-beak. Of the late Cretaceous Era.

(dug-le-SAWR-us)
Its name means “Douglas’ Lizard.” A fleet footed, medium sized, meat and plant eating reptile. It weighed about 2.5 tons. Of the Mesozoic Era.

(plee-zee-o-SAWR)
Large water reptile whose name means “Near Lizard.” They ranged in size from 8′ to 40′ long. Some had small heads with long necks and paddle-like limbs. Of the Mesozoic Era.

APATOSAURUS
(ah-PAT-o-sawr-us)
Its name means “Deceptive Lizard.” This huge plant eater grew up to 75′ long which included its 30′ long whiplash tail that was used for battle. It weighed about 30 tons. Of the late Jurassic Era.

Its name means “Lambe’s Lizard.” This plant eater had a hatched-shaped crest with a backward pointing spike. A duck-billed dinosaur which grew up to 40′ in length. Of the late Cretaceous Era.

(fy-to-SAWR)
Its name means “Plant Lizard,” even though this reptile was a flesh-eating lizard. They were 10 to 30 feet long and had bodies protected by bony plates. Of the late Triassic Era.
